Eppelation - wine education with a splash!

Welcome wine lovers!

We hope you celebrated Valentine's Day in style and, of course, with a delicious beverage. Under duress (ha ha), we managed a bottle of Aubrey Premier Cru Champagne - a tasty treat if you haven't tried it - to accompany fresh oysters and a fabulous halibut dish from our good friends at Fish restaurant, in Ft. Collins. No doubt we will be enjoying more bubbles before the month is out, as we celebrate our daughter's first birthday and Karen's birthday. Any excuse for champagne is a good one!

In this edition of Eppelation news, we tell you about our new wine feature, update you on classes and detail some changes we've made to our website.

We hope to see you in a class sometime soon!

Cheers,

Mark & Karen Eppel

new wine feature

We're glad to hear that some of you took advantage of our first wine feature and hope that you also enjoy our new featured wines.  From February 21 - March 13, we are featuring two fantastic reds - sorry white wine fans, we promise to do a white next time!  These wines are delicious and also happen to be highly regarded by the critics.

From Navarra in Spain we feature the sumptuous and decadent Bodegas Atalaya | Atalaya (2009), a Garnacha Tintorera /  Monastrell blend,as tasted in our Wine Elements: Back to Basics class.

From Mendoza, Argentina, we offer the intense, richly textured Crios | Cabernet Sauvignon (2009), which is on our Cabernet Comparison class.

sold out: Our Cabernet Comparison was sold out, and our Wine & Cheese class is sold out, but due to their popularity we may run these again later in the year - don't despair if you missed out!  We've already sold nearly 65% of seats for the classes through the end of June, so if you're interested in a class, register soon to secure your seat.

Wine Elements: Back to Basics: We still have a few spots available in our second Wine Elements: Back to Basics class on 2/28 at Rustic Oven. This is a great class if you're just getting into wine, or really want to understand how to taste wines you've been hesitant to try. This sensory evaluation of wine will  open a whole new world for you! See comments from our guests who attended the class on 1/31 to decide if this class is right for you.

Roaming the Rhone:  If you've ever wanted to visit France, here's your chance, and you don't even have to leave town (although that's guaranteed to be more fun!). There are a couple of seats left in the first class, and a few seats avaialable in the second Roaming the Rhone class on Tuesday 3/8.  Join us in a tasting of sensational Rhone wines from the north to the south and delve into this highly renowned wine region. You won't regret it!
