I attended the International Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) conference in Las Vegas last week. Stagers from all over the world attended and common themes were shared by everyone. Home Staging is a critical component in selling homes in today's market.
Today Show real estate expert Barbara Corcoran gave further credibility to the industry on yesterday's show. A viewer called in to ask if they should remove furniture from a home which had been on the market over a year and had already had several price reductions. She stated " keep the furniture in the home if at all possible and hire a home stager to make it more marketable. If you remove the furniture the rooms will appear smaller and you won't get the right price for the house. Once the staging is complete, you may even be able to increase the price."
These are pictures from a home that I staged in Shadowlakes subdivision. This kitchen has a lot of space, but without furnishings, it appeared lifeless and drab. By bringing in just a few pieces of the right furniture and accessories, the area appeared welcoming and bright.
