As BARK AVENUE enters our 2nd

year in business, we are excited to let you know what we've

accomplished so far.

For starters, we are just about at 100 dogs and over 70 cats that we have helped feed, walk, adminstered medications, gave belly rubs and showered with treats when you weren't looking! haha!

Here are a few of the enhancements made and coming to the business in 2011:

  • We now accept major credit cards
  • We started accepting Paypal
  • We're on Facebook!
  • We're getting new uniform T's
  • We've grown our staff (see below)
  • Monthly newsletters to keep you informed and updated
  • Cheryl's truck will have professional lettering for advertising
  • We've increased the Referral Bonus payout for your referrals
  • We no longer have a 9am time cut-off to when you can cancel your daily visit (see below)

BARK AVENUE UPDATES:

  • Due to the amount of time it takes to create the weekly schedule, we ask that all on-calls be emailed in no later than Sundays at noon.
  • We will always try to accommodate a last minute on-call request, but it may not be the exact time and length that you desire.
  • Weekend visits are required to be scheduled by Friday at noon.
  • Cancellations are no longer required by 9am day of visit. You can cancel at any time before the pet sitter visits your home.        If we are en route, full charge applies.

Generic Heartguard and

Flea and Tick preventatives can save you money!

There are many generic options available for Heartguard--and in some cases, do more to prevent various worms and parasites! Some generics for Heartguard are Ivermectin, Iverhart and Interceptor. You will need your veterinerian's consent to purchase via internet--which the company you choose (1800PetMeds for example) will fax to your animal hospital for approval.

As a reminder, a monthly heartworm preventative is

strongly recommended.

Generic Flea and Tick Preventative now available!

If you choose to use a preventative such as Frontline or Advantix, there is a generic version of Frontline Plus now available at Walmart. This is ASPCA and FDA approved and is the same chemical breakdown as Fronline. It is called PetArmor Plus and will save you huge money.

If you choose the all natural route for flea and tick prevention, there are MANY new products out there.

Check with your groomer for recommendations...and we'll be highlighting some great products here soon!

Lastly...

I want to THANK YOU all for being such amazing clients and being a part of BARK AVENUE with me on my journey in growing my business.

It's been a challenging year with the weather, gas prices, multiple truck problems, the economy and not having enough help.

I appreciate all of you and your patience when I have been off-schedule to get to your homes. It makes me SO happy when I get there and your babies are meowing, smiling and wagging their tails...
