“A wine doesn’t have to be an important wine to move me — and drinking it doesn’t have to be an earth shattering kind of experience that shakes me to my shoes.”– Winemaker Steve Edmunds
Whether you're out trick or treating, hamming it up with some friends in costume, or answering the door and handing out candy, we hope you have a fun Halloween. If you fall into the latter category, it will help pass the time if you have a nice glass of wine in hand! We've been posting some fun Halloween-themed wine labels on our Facebook page but if you missed them, see a quick list below for some inspiration.
In keeping with Halloween color theme, our new recipe is a Red Curry Butternut Soup with Seared Scallops. One of our favorite things about Fall is butternut squash, done any which way, and this just happens to be one of them...

wine tasting classes
October class wrap-up
Our hola! rioja! class was delicious, and a red wine lover's treat! Argentina & Chile was also a great tasting - there really are some top-notch, great value wines coming out of South America and if you haven't dabbled too much in this region, we highly recommend them. Especially enjoyable in this class was Mark's demonstration on how (not) to open a bottle of sparkling wine - it's nice to know that even professionals have bubbly mishaps!
Monday 11/7, $45
Join us on a tasting tour of this incredible Italian region as we step it up a notch and taste not only Piedmont's wonderful sparkling and white wines, but its world famous reds from Dolcetto and Barbera to high-end Barolo and Barbaresco. It's not every day you get to drink such great (and expensive), wines, so we'll do them justice with a wine-food pairing exercise, and a comparison tasting of the Nebbiolo masterpieces, Barolo and Barbaresco. There are only five seats left in this class. Register here!
For details on this and other tasting classes, please visit our website.
Holiday Wines: Due to scheduling issues we will be cancelling our Holiday Wines classes. However, we will give you plenty of tips for great holiday food & wine pairings in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
